The value of hobbies. How leisure activities impact well being.

Partners: Game Plan & Canadian Sport Institute

A case study exploring Canada’s developing athletes and how their leisure time contributes to well-being and social identity. Using a “show and tell” methodology we captured how the athlete’s hobbies and passions aid in balance and development of athletes around recovery and their social connections beyond sport. We found that many athletes choose active recovery with no pressure to perform. In depth open interviews were conducted along with pictures of them as they participated in other hobbies – these included disc golf, surfing, yoga, friends game night. #morethanonesport
